This week would have been Calli’s 12th birthday! It’s amazing she made it to 11 3/4. I’m not too sad anymore, just a twinge of missing her now and then. It was a great life and I’m happy she got to spend it with me!
Calli last summer….she didn’t mind getting her picture taken at all. “There’s mom again, snapping away.”
On the good news front, the salesguy from the bathtub company came over this morning, apologized for all the ruckus, and said they will make sure we are completely happy with everything. I repeated to him that I was completely surprised at how unorganized they were and I really had the feeling they hadn’t ever done this stuff before although I knew they had been in business for decades. He rolled his eyes and said he understood. Anyway, at the moment all is well. 😛
Awwwww Happy birthday to Calli. What a sweetie. she’s celebrating somewhere out there. Probably with a nice snooze. 🙂
I hope the bathroom stuff works out that you end up happy with the result, if not the beginnings of the mess.
Heehee…..I can often pretend she is still here because she was pretty much snoozing 22 hours a day anyway!
So far so good with the tub. Why make it such a hassle…but whatever….I’m just glad it will be done, probably by Monday afternoon!
Lauri, she was such a beautiful dog. Happy birthday, Calli! I hope you’re enjoying the sunshine and endless gardens out there.
You’re gonna have to post pictures of this bathroom before I believe this guy. They always apologize after the fact. But be sure that floor gets taken care of. Honestly….
It’s looking really good….the workman is doing good job. And I think he is just a complainer….it’s his manner, so his grousing about the floor not being on his work order was just sort of normal procedure for him…and he was annoyed at the office for not communicating well. Anyway, it’s looking just fine now. I just don’t know why they don’t take care of stuff before it gets to be a big pain in the ass!
Happy birthday, Calli, you elegant charmer! Maybe she got after those guys, slobbered in their ears to take good card of you or else…
If they’re good PR folks, they’ll welcome that you were up front with them, and will be more careful in the future with comunications. There are some things the customer doesn’t need to know.. Not that ignorance is bliss but that if some of those details were kept to themselves, you wouldn’t have gotten so upset. I’m glad they gonna make larui happy!
Hai, hai, jaypoot! I’ll bet Cal sat on them in the night! 🙂
I have been out gardening and so I am a dirty happy mess! Now to find something yummy to cook for supper!
What a lovely, noble photo of Calli.
Someone on FB saw it and said “You can tell that she liked whoever was taking her picture.” That made me feel so good. 🙂
Remembering Calli’s special day and appreciating my own dawg who is the same age.
That photograph is a wonderful memory Lauri.
It’s such a good thing to appreciate every moment we have….with ourselves, our human companions and our four (or more) legged companions!
We are very lucky peeps!
Calli was a really majestic looking dog. I hope the bath-tub issue turns out well; I wonder if tradesmen are as sloppy in their own homes as they often seem to be when they are being paid to do a job. A friend had stairs replaced last week and when they said “finished” my friend discovered the people had not finished off the side which faces into the room – they were just rough timber not “capped” smoothly.
Lame, lame and more lame with the stairs! I would think in their own homes they get absolutely nothing done and are at a bar all night.
She was just gorgeous! Happy birthday to Calli!
Thanks, Zoe! 🙂
Such a precious dog and so good that you got to spend your life with her. As for the bathroom dudes, yeah well. I am sure you are not the only person who has complained so why have they not fired those losers and put someone with some sense in there yet? I do hope it turns out better.
I remember when my mum was having a house built and they put up the walls and doorways inside and then when it was time to put the shower units in…they wouldn’t fit through the doors. Duhhhh!
So many horrible home remodeling stories! Bleah!
But it still has to be done!
Aye, it does. Masha is out of town this week and I was using his power screwdriver today, and it started making funny noises. Uh-oh.
Hello..The part of life which ends makes us appreciate and remember those good, good years. Richer love is taken each time there is love lived..:-)..Peace Tony
Very true, Tony! Thank you! 🙂
Oh my Happy birthday to Cal. She was such a noble one! it looks thugh like she had a bit of a jester in her as well.
You are so right, mizuno-g! She had a wonderful sense of humor. One day I said to her “Cal! You are all lumpy and warty!” and she chuffed out this huge Great Dane laugh, whilst sort of bouncing on her toes.
I had never seen a dog “laugh” so obviously before.
It was like “Yes, I am old and lumpy and warty, but it’s a great life!”
What a lovely puppy!
And I’m glad the tub stuff is finally being taken care of properly!
Thanks, Leenda! The tub is done and it really does look great! I’ll have to get a picture for a post!
aw. such a beautiful dog!
Thanks! She was a very bright light in my life! I’ll always miss her!
What a graceful, frosted dog. She’s looking into the sky, towards her future home – and she looks content and happy.
