What else? Puppy pics!

First of all, I have to post this picture of Orion’s very first suppertime in our kitchen. All of our animals get fed at the same time, their own bowls in different spots. But, we were both amazed when O’s first suppertime came around and even the cats were in the kitchen with him. I mean, a new puppy? We keep thinking Calli has sent part of her spirit back because the animals just seem to think he has been here all along!

Next, he can’t quite get his rear end up on the twin sized dog bed yet. Only the front half!

Mom has to give him a boost. Thanks, Mom!

And finally, Pinky Pig is his favorite toy. We keep Pinky safe until bedtime, so Sheldon doesn’t shred PP limb from limb!

Thank you for your kind attention! 😉

  1. Hello, He looks Great Dane or possibly half dalmation. Another thing..when Kuala Bear took off we expected it..(never consciously:-) seems cats and some others can ‘hear’ thought or respond somehow)..anyhoo..we watch this little Yorkie now and again..getting to know him..him us..some of what he does made me think possibly..little Bear found a way to put part of herself or all in the little guy..Peace Tony and CC

Awwww. I am sure that a bit of little Bear’s spirit did find her way back to visiting you! Orion is a Great Dane. He’s extremely spotty! 🙂
He is making all of us very happy!

WP ate my post! Some kind of “empty blah” number error msg.

Anyhoo! I SAID that last photo is ultimate proof of one happy puppy!

I like how one of the cats in the top picture (sorry, there’s no way I can keep all the names straight) is sitting on a little rug waiting for her (all cats are girls, all dogs are boys) food.

    • amyhftw says:

MomH is the same way about all cats are girls, are dogs are boys. She refers to their dog Izzie as “he” even though she’s not a boy dog.

    • Lurkertype says:

That’s Tegan. She is a girl. I was looking at that picture and thinking how very Tortie she was, sitting there on the rug.

      • Lauri says:

We just happen to have all boy dogs, now!
Three boy cats and three girl cats. Even Ken sometimes gets the “hes and shes” wrong. I never do. It’s important to me! 😉

I still call MeowMeow, my part-time cat, “she” even though I saw “her” penis a few months ago (for the first time in about 8 years!). But she’s got those great lined eyes and a very feminine energy. As far as I’m concerned, she’s transgender.

  4. You know how it is when you’re the new kid … everyone else watches everything you do hoping you’ll make an innocent mistake they can tease you about for the rest of your life.

I believe Calli sent her approval and spirit with Orion to introduce him to the crew. Now that she’s helped him on his way, she can rest easy.
At least that’s how it was when Winslow came to be with me – when I felt sadness for missing Elvis and Winslow came right over to let me know it was all going to be okay. It was Elvis’ spirit, of that I’m certain.

I am so loving the first photo with everyone in the kitchen. So glad this is working out well, Lauri.

Hey, the gang is all there!
That is one content puppy, and there’s no one thinking he has’t come home now.
Calli must be happy you have a complete set again.

Looks like you have one big happy fur family!
I’ve been contemplating bringing up the subject of a Great Dane to Chris. The people two doors down have a female and she is not a huge dog, she’s big don’t get me wrong, but she is not anywhere near as big as I thought Great Danes were.

Sometimes I feel like I’m already trying to fill the hole that I know will be left behind when Baron crosses the Rainbow Bridge. But, he’s a miniature Dachshund and he’s ‘only’ 11. The vet said he could see no reason why Baron wouldn’t live to be 18, 19 or even 20. But, he acts like an old man already and I just can’t see him going on like this for that many more years.

Anyway…your fur family is full of awesome and I’m glad you like to share with us.

    • Lauri says:

Thanks, Trish! Whatever you decide to do you will know it when the time is right. When Calli died I wanted nothing to do with a new Dane. But 8 months later the time is right!

  11. Redscylla says:

He’s so KYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTT!!! And I love the name. Mr Spotty McSpottersons. Of course, everybody already loves him. He can share Josey’s nickname: Brindletooter.

  12. *ded from the cute. again*

  13. Emmy says:

He’s gorgeous, Lauri. Congratulations. Big dogs are so fun and ironically mellow compared to smaller ones, aren’t they? That’s what I find, anyway.

  14. GOF says:

Wonderful pictures. The pooches all look totally contented and pleased with life. I’m not going to let our dog look at my computer screen…..he might demand better living conditions. 🙂

  15. geologywoman says:

PS your kitchen counters look like ours, stuff stuff and more stuff. Food stuff, varmints stuff. Life being lived. Kitchen counters with nothing on them are weird.

  16. geologywoman says:

PPS come visit me we have gardening and possibility of pet chicken news.

  17. leendadll says:

SO CUTE! And the interaction with the fur family, especially the kitties, is just amazing!

  18. Inga says:

There’s no doubt he’s been adopted by the best home possible 🙂 And he’s so damn BIG! I walked past a beautiful black great dane outside the shops the other day, even lying down his head was nearly at hip height. They’re just enormous.

  19. mizunogirl says:

really love the dinner time photo, you have so many animals paying rapt attention to you!
