Some outdoor pics!

Yes, two posts in one day. Imagine that. Here’s a few pics of the alpacas and al-chick-as.

My newest chicks. Just started laying eggs in December! Such nice eggs, too! The first chick is Pearl and the other five look identical, so they are the Isa Browns.

Archimedes (l), who is a girl, and Sanjaya. These two are the oldest chicks I have!

Little Jerry (youngest chicken around) and Archimedes.

And, finally, an alpaca coming and an alpaca going. Time for a nap for me! 😉

  1. You finally got your snow.
    Are the alpacas getting friendlier?

    And ….

Speaking of old chicks … that site we don’t use but I still get emails from told me your b’day was soon.

      Ha! Yep….Feb. 5. Damn, I’ll be 59. So weird!
The pacas are friendly in their own way. When we are in there they will come and stand right next to us to see what’s going on. And they will look us right in the eye while we talk to them standing right up close to us. But they aren’t keen on being touched.
When it’s time for their grain treat they get down right excited!

Have you ever tried to hug an alpaca? Their necks look quite huggable.

    • Lauri says:

When they have to be caught to get vaccinations or worming shots it’s like hugging their neck. You have to gently herd them into a corner and grab them around the neck and hold on tight! They’re huggable, but they don’t enjoy it like we do!

They all are sooo beautiful!! Darn it, I haven’t seen them in person. If there is still snow on the ground when you get back,I’m inviting myself over! (Don’t want Gerdy making mudpies in your house!) When do you shear the pacs? They look so soft!

    • Lauri says:

Hey, you need to bring Gerdy over to play, mudpies or not! What do you think my big lunks bring in everytime they come in the door! We don’t need a dog park, we have my backyard!

Insanely beautiful property. The alpacas look so regal in the snow.

  5. Laurie says:

Your alpacas look like they’re wearing fuzzy jammies!
I saw this video of chickens in the snow this week, and thought of you!
