Update

Here is the update that Rachel just posted on her FB page. I love that kid!

Texass!

by Rachel Hagen on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at 12:49pm

Just wanted to let everyone know that we made it to Texas safe and sound.  We didn’t have a lot of downtime because we made it every where we needed to go just in time.  Dad handled both flights really well and even said he enjoyed them and I didn’t have any motion sickness.  Everyone in Texas is really nice and everyone at the hospital was very helpful.  We met with the doctor and we definitely have some options!  Yay for options!  I need to have a CT scan and they want to re-biopsy the new tumor to make sure we are dealing with the same disease.  The earliest they could get my scan was Thursday and the biopsy probably won’t be until Friday or the following Monday so Dad and I will be here for another week or so.  Hope everyone is enjoying their summer.  I really miss Michigan :)”

  1. Yay Rachel! Go girl go!

I realize one shouldn’t get one’s hopes up too high when it’s this early in the diagnosis, but the MD Anderson research center is one of the best for hard-to-treat cancers. If nothing else, it’s just good to know she’s being treated by the best physicians in the country. Fingers crossed!

It does feel good, HG! If there is anything that can be done they should be able to do it!

Waiting for docs to do their thing can be nerve-racking…but when you’ve got a really nasty disease, hanging around for a week is probably nothing! Glad she’s in good hands.
