Update on my friends’ daughter…

The beautiful Rachel and her awesome fiance’, Kevin, at Ashlee’s wedding. Please direct all of your Healing Beams at this chickie!

Cathy and Clarke’s Rachel, Jessica’s sister, has been having trouble swallowing for about two months. The docs thought it was scarring from the radiation she had after her bone marrow transplant. It is not. The tumor has come back. She had a bone marrow transplant in October. Finished up radiation had a clean scan and now that sonofabitchcocksucker is back. After just a very few months.

So, Rachel, grand champion cancer fighter of the world, has posted on FB that she is starting chemo again on Monday, in preparation for a second bone marrow transplant.

I know life isn’t fair, but goddammit, nobody should have to go through this. Especially not a kid.

  2. Kzinti says:

And a heaping load of prayers, positive juju and whatever else I can find around here to throw their way that might help. (((HUGS))) Once around is once too many…

  3. How heartbreaking. Chemo is almost as bad as the cancer itself. Rachel is too young for this, but youth might give her the strength to get through it too. Healing thoughts directed her way!

  4. Jaypo says:

I see her bright smile and hope and pray that many more in this world will get to see it, for long time to come. May all the angels watch over her.

  7. No, no, no! Not again! Kick that nastiness out once and for all, Rachel!

  8. crankypants says:

Damn. That is tough news. Looking at her you would never know there had ever been anything wrong with her, look at how healthy and bright she looks!
Well, much mojo to her and her loved ones to kick butt again.

    • Lauri says:

We have all been envying her that gorgeous hair that she just grew back. It looks like a very cute and expensive cut!
      More buttkicking will ensue!

  9. Jessica says:

Thanks, Wah. We love you guys so much. 🙂

  10. Ohoh! No one should ever go through this – ever. Lots of good thoughts from over here too!

I am so sorry to hear this. Truly, truly. I know she has fought hard and this is a BASTARD. They’re all bastards, cancer is, but I’ve known too many people with this.

I don’t know how she does it and I send all the comforting vibes to her I can. Bless.

  12. phantomxii says:

Damn. That sucks. Best wishes to her.

  13. Brown Suga' says:

She’s gorgeous! Hope that healthy radiance kicks that cancer out forever, this time. Hopefully her being young and strong might be the thing that will get her through the chemo. All my good thoughts and wishes!

  14. GOF says:

News like this is just so sad especially when it involves someone so young. I just don’t know how I would cope if it was my family. My thoughts are with her and her family and friends.

  15. pyrit says:

I can’t quite place it, her face is SO familiar! But I don’t remember anybody named Rachel. I keep looking at her thinking I’ve met her – or else she has a twin somewhere.
Anyway, she is one of those beautiful people with a bright inner light. May it shine on!

Something else to think about is 90% of our medicines are from nature. We need to take care of our world and the oceans. Also, other cultures have remedies and treatments that work which we need to explore.

In the past 6 years cancer survival rates have improved 20 percent, according to Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and the Nat’l. Cancer Inst.!

Bless. Cancer is an evil, horrible thing. And you have a huge, wonderful heart.
