Long slow Spring…

Still cold. Still cold and wet. But the sun is shining today. It might reach sixty. I am taking my violas outside to plant. They are looking miserable in the window and they will hopefully be sturdy enough to survive the cold that I am sure is still to come!

Last week my poor scared hyacinths and daffodils got plopped on by the snow.

Last Wednesday Ashlee and Ross’ Bert-bert had surgery for a luxating patella. He is home and doing really well! He had been limping for months and finally enough xrays and exams determined the problem and he should be all fixed up, now!

Bert-bert sitting silly before his surgery. (not that it had anything to do with him sitting silly!)

When Ross and Ash got back from their honeymoon they opened presents. Reuben helped, Gree watched and Leo and Bert played during the whole procedure. My dear sister got me “Mother of the Bride” flowers and they made me so happy and are still making me happy two weeks later…I have never seen flowers last so long!

I do agree with what Dancing Bear said somewhere today. WP is not at all as “neighborhood friendly” as Vox. It is more difficult to keep up. But I have seen so many friends today and enjoyed all the posts, so don’t give up!

I’m off to clean koi pond filters and rake some flower beds, plant violas…and then maybe vacuum. Ah, lofty dreams of motivation! đŸ™‚

Have a great weekend, friends!

I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned this to you, but I like to count the animals shown in your posts. I counted 5 in this one.

  2. Poor hyacinths and daffys. It’s so cruel when the weather gets warm and spring-like for a few weeks, then suddenly BAM, everyone gets buried in a freak snow. (Though if memory serves, in Minnesota it was never safe to plant anything, not even violas, before May.) I hope the snow all melts and becomes a distant memory. Have a good weekend too, Larui!

    Loverly fleurs!

I was just kretching about the #subs page. Hrm. Posterous may be a better answer but I’m not sure. I love them for “free” audio / video uploads but don’t like their “formatting” as well as WP.

I’m glad to hear poor pup is on the mend.

Your flowers look marvelous! Even the ones covered in snow.

  5. Yay warmth! We had some snow this morning (although it was too warm for anything to accumulate) and now the sun is poking through. Where did the newlyweds go on their honeymoon?

The following link will probably make you melt: http://www.redbubble.com/people/ellen/art/7073252-rosie-celebrates-easter

  6. Snow? Still? Good gracious! Even we are done for now….
The flowers are wonderful. The ones I got about a week ago lasted 4 days then they looked pretty miserable.

I hope it gets up to sixty there like it has here today. It’s such a tonic to have a nice day for a change.

I hope this doesn’t cause any lasting jealousy amongst the other pooches, but Bert-bert has suddenly become my favorite.
The purple flowers contrasting with snow background makes a beautiful picture.
Agree with your sentiments about WP….the “hood” at Vox seemed to constantly increase…..here it is slowly diminishing…..but that’s probably more to do with all the crud that I put up on my blog.
Hope you’re having an enjoyable weekend too…..here it’s an extra long one…..Tues holiday for our ANZAC remembrance day.

@GOF I think it’s just a scattered system. One of my neighbors said it feels more like a hotel than a home, and I tend to agree with that. Although I do NOT miss the spammers, extremists and unwelcomed advertisements and I like that it saves blog drafts for us.

Yep, snow here too, although it turned to rain later, thank goodness. Lovely pics, the flowers are lovely. Hope the garden flora survive and hope we get rid of this %$(%* cold weather! I agree about Vox, I was just thinking how much I missed the privacy settings.

The flowers look beautiful, even in the snow. The mother of the bride flowers are so beautiful too.

I’d never give up on you!!

I can smell the hyacinth! Heady and too sweet but I can never stop inhaling!

    Happy Easter, larui!!

Yes, keep trying pretty please with sugar on top.
It’s so nice to read encouragement from another peep. Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one who actually likes WP.

Wow, Ash & Ross got dogs and cats!

My daffodils only had 2 days of flowering. We got an unseasonal frost which killed them. The flowers your sister gave you are lovely. I adore little Burt – he is a cutie.
